IATSE Local 99 Dispatch Job Description
Dispatchers fill calls following the Job Referral Procedure and Rules, current version, provided by IATSE Local 99. Dispatch includes Full-time, Part-time and Cover Dispatchers. Each individual Dispatcher is to be able to provide the same customer service and prompt fulfillment of all labor orders submitted to IATSE Local 99 according to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
The aim is for efficient and consistent dispatcher coverage from 8am – 10pm daily with 30-45 minutes for meal breaks. Days that need coverage as early as 2:00am or later than 10:00pm in which there is an early starting load-in or a late starting load-out occur.
The dispatcher normally on duty nearest to those early/late start times will have their schedule shifted by an hour or two to accommodate seamless coverage of IATSE Local 99 dispatch.
Adjustments to the schedule will be managed by the lead dispatcher. They will be tracked on an online calendar (Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook or Teams) for reference of all staff.
If a dispatcher’s schedule must be adjusted to cover an early or late call, best efforts will be made to do so the week prior.
If dispatchers need/choose to trade coverage, notification of such arrangements must be made to the lead dispatcher at least 24 hours prior to the affected shifts, whenever possible.
