This class will be held at the Eccles Theater SLC Downtown. Enter through Eccles Theater Stage Door, located east of the theater on Regent Street.

All the basics for your first day on a dressing call will be covered. From load in to work calls, the set up, use, and breakdown of wardrobe equipment and dressing skills. Dressing room etiquette and communication skills. How dressing on a ballet is different from a Broadway show. Know why opera dressing room etiquette is very important.

This is a required class for Wardrobe Star advancement.

Wardrobe 201: Dressing Basics

Friday, January 30, 2026 10am -3pm 10 people class limit

This class will be held at the Eccles Theater SLC Downtown. Enter through Eccles Theater Stage Door, located east of the theater on Regent Street.

The focus of this class is on dressing skills. What you’ll be up against on your first day of dressing on a show. What is a dressing track, how to read it. What does some of the terminology and abbreviations mean? You must learn your track within the first 3 shows. How do you do that? You will preset costumes, walk through a track, and do quick changes. The importance of a costume inventory checks every show. How to interact with your performers and the protocol that guides you. What does professional dress and attitude mean.

This is a required class for Wardrobe Star advancement.

ETCP focuses on disciplines that directly affect the health and safety of crews, performers, and audiences. You may become certified through ETCP in the following areas: Rigger – ArenaRigger – TheatreEntertainment Electrician and Portable Power Distribution Technician.
