Protest the passage of HB 267
Call on Governor Cox to VETO this deplorable Union Busting Legislation
Where: Utah State Capitol Rotunda
Date: Friday, February 7, 2025
Time: 3:30 P.M.
Today, HB 267 passed out of the Senate. HB 267 is a bill pushed by out-of-state special interests to weaken Utah workers’ rights.
- HB 267 Creates Solutions to Problems That Don’t Exist: This bill wasn’t created in response to issues raised by Utah workers or Utah employers—it’s being pushed by out-of-state special interests with an anti-worker agenda.
- Out-of-State Influence Is Driving This Bill, Not Utah Workers: Utah’s public employees didn’t ask for this legislation—it’s being pushed by national special interest groups with no stake in our communities.
- The True Cost to Taxpayers Comes from Special Interests, Not Unions: The real financial burden isn’t unions—it’s out-of-state lobbying groups pushing policies that could disrupt workplaces and create instability in public services. Collective bargaining actually saves money by ensuring fair, standardized contracts instead of costly, fragmented negotiations.
Please share this information with your co-workers, friends, family, neighbors. We need to show a strong showing of solidarity and tell the Governor to VETO HB267.
In Solidarity,
Jeff Worthington
President, Utah AFL-CIO
